The USg Technologies International Pte Ltd (USgTEC) is an initiative that works closely with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). By having strategic partnerships with some U.S. States (Economic Development Agency) and working closely with US Embassies in the region, the aim is to attract companies (SMEs) from the U.S. to set up business operations in Singapore; and to use Singapore as a launch pad into the Asia Pacific region. It is also intended to take advantage of the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to help bridge companies from the U.S. to Singapore. The objective is to be a professional US-centric business/technology development center in the Asean region.

We function as a catalyst for new business ventures where USgTEC will work with the various potential strategic partners in the U.S. - State government economic development agencies, trade associations, technology centers, universities, venture capitalists and other multiplier organizations to reach out to U.S. companies who are interested to develop their export markets in the Asia Pacific region. Recognizing the difficulties of U.S. SMEs in venturing into Asian markets, the proposal is to provide value-added services to help them come to Asia using Singapore as their base and then to expand their activities into the Asia Pacific region. USgTEC will also work with various organizations in the region to grow the startup companies, thus providing more economic activities in Singapore and the region.
